History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

It is the year 1323 Imperial, the Golden Age lies two hundred years in the past, two hundred years as well since the first wave of colonists; refugees from the shattered Imperium, began to settle in the Spinward Hinters and beyond The Frontier. From the time of the rebellion to the coming of the virus, other waves of colonists have come, the Solomani fleeing the doom that came to all charted space, and the Zhodani fleeing their Consulate sundered upon the Empress Wave and the assault of The Black Ships, the same Black Ships on the horizon, now menacing the New Frontier.

The Frontier used to be considered unincorporated worlds, or non-aligned polities in Iphegenaia, Fulani and Theta Borealis sectors, many of which existed only since the 1140s. This was well into the time of the outbreak of the machine life "virus" (a corrupted Cymbeline entity, often called a metastasizing Cymbeline, or "Meta-Cym"), the truth is much different, though many of the organized states date their founding around this era. The first refugees from the shattered Imperium began to arrive around 1120 or so, the Zhodani, who had long blocked colonization of this area, saw fit to create a refugee zone of these sectors, along the border of the Great Rift in particular, they could create marches to block Aslan expansion. They were not the first humans here, that title belongs to the Vlazhdumecta , appearing as much as 5,000 years ago to settle sporadic colonies, then came Zhodani Scouts and traders not long afterwards. Much later, Solomani Settlers came during the last decades of the Long Night, founding the Regency of Muirimi, from them and other colonies expanding out towards the Frontier, came the Space Pioneers: misfits, outcastes, and rogue traders; the chaff being swept before civilized space as if by some cosmic wind.

Altogether, it is hard to figure an actual number on the number of emigrants to the Frontier and beyond, the number of dead is often totalled at over a trillion from the collapse of the old Imperium, but logic says, and history shows, people will move first before dying; thus one could figure that the numbers are in the billions of refugees to the frontier area.
