Notes (2007)[edit]

Okay, got over-ambitious. The idea is for each planet entry to have it's own row in the table. I tried doing that direct with html embedded in an #if. Looks like the if is working, but you can't embed html inside template calls. You might be able to do it with wiki-markup table formatting, but I'm not as familiar with that, so it's going to take more poking.

This is correct. This works on Wikipedia because a Wiki extension called HTMLTidy. The request has been made repeatedly. Tjoneslo 12:49, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
Try the above replacement. See the Sandbox. Tjoneslo 12:49, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
Yep! That works, thanks. I've taken out the original. :P Those ifs are even more complicated than I thought.... Anyway, I figure doing system articles wherever we have information might make a good 'monthly project'. I've put up the article that inspired this work – Talak (system).
Do we want a "simple" template to just give what is known through an extended UPP (number of gas giants and belts, star type(s))? Also, feel free to modify this around - for instance, a lot of Traveller system listings do have a 'notes' column, and we might want to insert one. --Rindis 18:02, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

Another thing that needs looking at is how notify users that there is a system page available. I imagine a box like SectorWorlds2 could do for Sector and Subsector pages, but what do we want to do on a world page to mention that there is info on the system as a whole? --Rindis 21:15, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

Moved the discussion about both issues to the Template talk: UWP, as I think we can answer (most of) both by updating the UWP template. Tjoneslo 15:48, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
