(suggestion: Should "Thunderball" link to an entry entitled "Nuclear Weapons" rather than the other way around? Having an entry with a title that's a colloquial term seems off.)

Thunderball is the canon term used in Traveller literature. IT's mentioned as early as Book 4 Mercenary (book).
