Calculation of the Horizon[edit]
The calculation is D ≈ √2Rh or Distance (km) about equal to Square root of (2 * radius (km)) * square root (height (m). The D column is square root (Radius (km) * 2). Calculate the horizon distance by multiplying the square root of the height(m). The values in the summary table are assuming a 2m tall person at "sea level" or mean radius of the planet.
