user: Tjoneslo, Is this world really Fl and not Fl Ni? T5SS reads Fl Ni unless I'm mistaken? Maksim-Smelchak (talk) 15:34, 21 June 2015 (EDT)

Why are you changing entries to have only one trade code? I'm sure you have a reason. Please help me understand. Maksim-Smelchak (talk) 16:37, 21 June 2015 (EDT)
The "trade=" parameter in the UWP template has a specific use. If it is one of the planetary codes (as, de, fl, ga, he, ic, oc, va, wa), and they need to be all lower case, it changes the background color to the section of the infobox holding the name. This is a subtle color change to indicate the kind of world you are visiting. This is explained under Template:UWP under the trade parameter. So the "trade=" parameter in the UWP isn't supposed to be the full T5SS trade comments, it's just supposed to be the single planetary code (if there is one), as an indication to the reader the world may not be as habitable as they would like.
I continue to update them because it adds useful things for the end user. Tjoneslo (talk) 17:35, 21 June 2015 (EDT)
Is there anyway we can preserve the T5SS codes elsewhere in the entry? Perhaps a note box? I hate to see that data lost, when it's useful for other reasons, like to help me write background details for the worlds. Thanks! Maksim-Smelchak (talk) 03:30, 22 June 2015 (EDT)
You can do what you did with the nobility and base entries and add a new (unused) parameter like "classification=" with the full codes. Tjoneslo (talk) 07:32, 22 June 2015 (EDT)
I will do so. Thank you, Thomas. Maksim-Smelchak (talk) 10:36, 22 June 2015 (EDT)
I see you have taken on the monumental task of adding in all worlds for T5SS sectors. And I certainly appreciate the amount of work involved -- it's a HUGE undertaking! But I anticipate a lot of this information could change in the next few years as people dig deeper into both the T5 system and the T5SS data drops. So much info has been released in such a short amount of time that the designers and fans alike are still assimilating the data. Even for sectors listed as final, I think things should still be considered to be in flux. I don't know that anyone, for example, has really kicked the tires on the nobility assignments, or all of the trade classification criteria. It's your time, of course, but I would go a little crazy if I entered in all of the T5 data for a dozen sectors and then found that the Importance calc had changed, affecting 20% of the world entries. Etc. I give this caution only because I think your time is important and your contributions to the wiki are invaluable. Garnfellow (talk) 10:44, 22 June 2015 (EDT)
Hi Garnfellow, I am not the only one. Thomas typically enters near a half dozen worlds a day or so. And sometimes others help as well. I plan to switch to something else at some point (...something creative rather than data entry), but, for now, I am plugging away. How do I get involved with T5SS? And I realize things will change and that's fine. It's a heck of a lot easier to modify or edit and existing entry than to have to wholesale make new entries. That's my gift to the traveler community and I won't go crazy when the data changes... again. You can reach me at CotI or elsewhere. Always happy to hear from you. Thanks, Garnfellow. At a minimum, I want to finish the Domain of Ilelish and then decide what to do next. I have two sectors down, am finishing the third (Ilelish), and have done piecemeal work on the fourth (Reaver's Deep). It will get done. I made a New Years Resolution this year in 2015 to be a major contributor to the Traveller Wiki. I think I've already set records for contributions, and I have come up with many new innovations (...such as binary and trinary star data), created the megastructures entry, created a comprehensive government (polities) set of files, helped Thomas finish the creatures projects, edited every sophont file, codified the trade classification system with Thomas, and am working on much more. I want to be a team player, a friendly person, and a hard-working team player here. I am happy to cooperate and collaborate with you or anyone else. Thanks again, Garnfellow. Hey Thomas, perhaps we can work collaboratively on the entries with trade codes? I will make all new entries with the functionality you desire and perhaps you can save the full T5SS code for me? I just did all of the recent files. So, all new entries won't be more work for you. Is that agreeable? I can do more to new files if you have other desired functionality? Thanks. appreciate all of your hard work and guidance. Maksim-Smelchak (talk) 12:09, 22 June 2015 (EDT)
You are beginning to discover why I do only a few articles at.a time. I have found that there is something else to add to each article. I'm just working on Dagudashaag, and it will take at least one more pass to get all the articles updated to the current standards. But that is most of the interesting part.
The thing I most want to see is more articles. Not just the restatement of the T5SS sector data, but interesting background information that serves the purpose of making good adventures, Tjoneslo (talk) 21:06, 22 June 2015 (EDT)
I have been writing detail articles and background for many worlds. They need a file before such data can be inserted. And, yes, I am beginning, or continuing, to understand the awesome job you are doing. Thanks so much for your hard work, Thomas. Please send me the jobs you do not want to do. I am happy to help out a fellow writer. Thanks again! Maksim-Smelchak (talk) 00:24, 23 June 2015 (EDT)
