Notes (2018)[edit]

Tech Level: GURPS Traveller main book lists it as (G3e) TL-10. This translates to TTL 9 from the TL meta page. Which is also what it lists for the Sulieman Scout (Wiki TTL 15) and the Beowulf Free Trader (Wiki TTL 10).

However, from page 46 of "CT S07 Supplement 07 Traders & Gunboats":

TYPE A2 FAR TRADER

  • A-8456 Empress Nicholle A2-22211 R1-000000-00000-0 MCr59.56 200 tons
  • A-8457 Empress Marava A2-22211R 1 -010 000-10 001- 0 MCr61.36 200 tons
  • A-8458 Empress Margaret A2-22211 R1-000000-30000-0 MCr64.96 200 tons
batteries bearing 3 Crew=3. TL=9.
batteries 3 Book 2 Design.
Passengers=6. Low=4. Cargo=6l. Fuel=50. Hardpoints=2. Agility=O.

As the Marava clearly uses gravitics and they are only prototypes at TTL 9, I am choosing to make the Empress Marava Far Trader TTL 10. Please correct me if I am wrong.

There seem to be a number of minor differences in crew size, low berth capacity, etc. between CT S07 and GURPS Traveller main book and Deck Plans. I am going to go with the GURPS figures when there is conflict. Again, correct me if I am wrong.

(Haven't actually made these changes yet, hopefully I will later today.)

GURPS levels don't translate well to regular Traveller. there is always a +/- level 1 issue.

  • It's safe to assume that ship classes exist at several different TL's.
  • My guess is that Marava versions exist at TL-10 through TL-15.
  • You're doing good stuff. Thank you.

minimum should be TL-11 for Jump-2[edit]

This vessel class is listed as TL-10 but it is described as having Jump-2 as a standard feature. Jump-2 is only available at TL-11 and thereafter; should the description of the vessel be changed to indicate TL-11? This might not be in agreement with the source material, which i unfortunately do not possess.
