Section 12
Section 12 is a top secret unit of the Imperial Navy's Office of Naval Intelligence.

History & Background / Dossier[edit]
The unit is the brainchild of Archduke Norris which is completely off book with no direct connection to the government. Norris, a former naval officer who has connections in the intelligence field. He recognized the need for plausible deniability for some direct actions. Section 12 is virtually unknown to the public and even in most cases within the navy itself.
Section 12 sometimes referred to as "12" has been instrumental in influencing the outcome of numerous and on occasion, pivotal events within the spin-ward marches.
One incident of note which was credited to local naval command but in actuality handled by members of 12 was he Yori uprising of 1103. The details are classified of course but the sanitized version says a religious cult attempted a coup to replace the planetary government with a Theocratic Dictatorship. Part of this strategy involved wiping out the small contingent of Imperial Navy and Marine personnel who managed port authority and security for the star-port. Members of 12 were on Yori conducting an investigation into the disappearance of Imperial operatives near the township of Aicemata. This turned out to be the center of the leadership for the overthrow and through the incredible heroics of the members of 12, the plot was foiled and untold lives were saved.
