The star Scheat (otherwise known as Beta Pegasi) is a Red Giant (bordering on Bright Giant status) Long Period variable type star of period 43.3 days and spectral classification M2.5. Scheat should not be confused with the star Delta Aquarii (properly named "Skat"), as the name has also occasionally been used for that star as well. Scheat is losing mass at ~10−8 MSol/year, creating an expanding shell of gas and dust of ~16 AU).

The Scheat star system lies approximately 60.1pc from Terra, and is located in a generally Spinward direction from Terra at bearing 095.8o Galactic Longitude and -29.0o South Galactic Latitude.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
This star is the central star of the Steiaseah/Khtoiakta (Dark Nebula 1927) system. It is known as Ua'aloiatye ("the Bright Star") to the Aslan.
