Rossen is a ring of many small worldlets (planetoids AKA an "asteroid belt"), not capable of retaining an atmosphere or water, and both non-agricultural and preindustrial in nature.

• These worldlets warrant hazardous environment precautions.
• Life in a vacuum requires great discipline. After all, it only takes one forgotten seal on a vacuum suit to spell death. Those who survive tend to be very methodically-minded and attentive to small detail.
• The worldlets are, for the most part, unable to produce quality foodstuffs and must import them.
• These worldlets are working towards being an industrial world but lack an adequate workforce to do so.
• It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Cirqa Subsector of Fornast Sector in the Domain of Sylea.

History

The Rossen Belt, by some measures the least important system in the subsector, is home to tens of millions of belters who have no single unifying government. The different parties in the Rossen system include companies and cooperatives large and small from the surrounding systems, as well as two long-time residential groups who make up about 70% of the populace between them. Separated by most of the belt's circumference and a political split that followed the Civil War period, the two native groups were on the verge of a reunion when outside interests began to play them against each other in 1032. The Marquis of Rossen and the Duke of Cirqa are both monitoring the situation as rhetoric ramps up then subsides, apparently at the whim of outsiders. Meanwhile, some of those outside interests are beginning to eye each other with suspicion, meaning the whole belt could erupt into war at any time.

Imperial Nobility

Rossen, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial Landed Knight who acts as an Imperial representative to the world, and the fiefdom of a member of the Imperial Landed Nobility, who oversees affairs regarding the world at an Interstellar and Imperial level.
