Virus & Lucan[edit]
After the release of Virus, one of the Viral entities had come to Capital (world). Lucan had somehow made an arrangement with the entity. Lucan was allowed to remain a figurehead and control the human populations of the worlds in his former territory in exchange for complete and actual control of the sector.
Lucan's Return to Power[edit]
Sometime during the 1150s, Lucan convinced the Viral entity to allow it to load Viral replicas of Lucan's personality into Imperial capital ships and the primary computer in the Imperial Palace.
Once this was done, Lucan's Viral replica destroyed the Viral entity and Lucan resumed leadership of his territory. When Lucan's health started to fail, through a process developed from continuing research at the Omicron Station, Lucan achieved a complete personality upload of himself and became an Informorph (Meta Identity), to be able to rule his domain directly. All other copies of Lucan were subservient to the copy at the Imperial Palace.
Dissolution[edit]
The Black Imperium state collapsed in 1218 due to the Battle of Capital. With the destruction of the primary Lucan personality, every other replica of Lucan now considers itself to be the primary personality and only ally with each other when presented with a common threat.
