Linara has an oceanic geography of a liquid other than water such as ammonia, methane, hydrocarbons, or other exotic liquids. The system supports a population in the hundreds of millions. Government control of this world is by an external military force. The world lies substantially outside of the habitable zone of the system and environmental temperatures are well below the freezing point of many gases. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Sapphyre Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Linara, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight (the Imperial representative to the world) and the fiefdom of a viscount. Both are members of the Imperial Landed Nobility who oversee affairs regarding the world at an Interstellar and Imperial level. This world contains an Imperial Scout Base, capable of handling Scout Service starships and personnel. During the Long Night this world was named Guuiir.
Astrography and Planetology[edit]
Linara is a member of the Dagudashaag Main.
Stellar Data[edit]
Mainworld Data[edit]
Linara is the outermost of four worlds orbiting Shenal, a dim red main sequence star. Its frigid atmosphere is made up of carbon dioxide and ammonia, and large areas of the surface are covered in ammonia seas.
History and Background[edit]
There are three cities, each home to one hundred million people, tunneled into the side of mountains. Until 1055 Linara was a colony of Riiya (Dagudashaag 2035). When Riiya's government collapsed, Linara was unable to get essential life support supplies and associated backup technology. The technology level began to fall and the Imperium was forced to intervene to avoid a disaster. The Scout Service have administered the world ever since.
There is still tensions between the pro- and anti-Riiyan factions, and travellers are advised to avoid political discussions.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Linara has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
