Johnathan Edgar Saint Edward MacArthur, third son of Prince Colin VII and Princess Laura (Barness Kingsloch).
John, growing up third in line for the throne, had never had much expectation of getting near the crown until age 28, and the death of his oldest brother Stuart. He went into the world of business, and between a good deal of natural personal acumen and the contacts and clout that come from being a member of the royal family and a huge, powerful clan, he prospered mightily; as head of Clan MacArthur of Inverloch's credit pool, he increased the clan's wealth by a factor of four between 108 and 117.
His older brother Morris' short reign and abrupt disability caught him very much off guard. He was crowned in 122, having had five years to switch gears from businessman to monarch.
His reign was short - seven years - but notable for its shrewd approach to trade and opening of theretofore untapped markets. It is said that the Gross Product of the principality grew more during John's reign than during any other comparable seven year stretch in Principality history.
He retired after suffering a heart attack in 129, turning the government over to his youngest brother, Ian.
