Jarnac Pashalic/DonM/meta

Notes (2024)

• In the original Paranoia Press 1981 publication the Jarnac Pashalic was a small Aslan Polity straddling the border between the Vanguard Reaches and The Beyond located along their mutual rimward border. It was ruled by a "Pasha" who held the dynastic name/title "An'Dulach".
• In the 1991 Online Updates of Vanguard Reaches Sector, Jarnac Subsector (formerly Subsector P) was moved to Subsector O, where there is the coreward extension of an otherwise unnamed Aslan Colony. This is the new location of the "Pashalic", though it has lost its un-Aslan names for both polity and rulers. Current canon calls this polity the Aslan Hierate Kyatulyare Vassal.

Some considerations:

For those wishing to explain the odd morphology of the names of this "Aslan" polity and its rulers, perhaps this polity can be considered a "Barbarian" Aslan polity that is a mixed and blended Human-Aslan state wherein the cultures of both Aslan and Solomani/Vilani humans (perhaps some of originally Central-Asian origin) comingled and blended. The ruler is a "Pasha" or "Emperor" with the dynastic title "An'Dullach", and the term "Jarnac" either also comes from the Human background, or simply derives its name from the name of the subsector to Spinward.
