Hourara supports a population of fewer than 10,000 sophonts. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Shallows Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Hourara, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Landed Nobility who acts as an Imperial representative to the world. This world has a nearby Imperial Naval Base, capable of handling warships. During the Long Night this world was named Irze.
Astrography and Planetology[edit]
Hourara is a member of the Dagudashaag Main.
Stellar Data[edit]
History and Background[edit]
The Hourara system houses the small naval construction-repair base and resupply depot within the orbital starport, Ulaani. The base only constructs the lower end of naval requirements, generally vessels under a thousand tons. These include the common patrol cruisers, close escorts, naval couriers and non-jump ships such as ship's boats, SDBs etc.
The base does serve larger, capital ships in need of significant repairs and/or overhauls. The naval administration has contracts to serve and supply the local planetary, subsector and reserve forces. There is a close link with the naval research station on Gladsheim (Dagudashaag 0614).
World Starport (Sp)[edit]
Hourara has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
- The highport is known as Ulaani.
- There is an associated Imperial Naval Base, hosting elements of the 50th Fleet.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
The following languages are among the most commonly used here:

- Vilani: One of the two official languages of the Third Imperium.
