Greek (language)
Greek is a Terran-origin language of the Hellenistic peoples of the Southeastern European Continental/Mediterranean Cultural Region. Though a living language, its ancient Classical form was a language of culture and learning on Ancient pre-spaceflight Terra that is still seen in many ancient literary works and treatises.

The modern dialects of Greek are offshoots of the principal language of the Hellenistic peoples of the Southeastern European Continental/Mediterranean Cultural Region of ancient pre-spaceflight Terra. Some of its most significant forms today include:
- Classical Greek, an ancient and liturgical language as well as a language of scholarship and culture.
- Koiné Greek, the ancient Common Greek language which is the basis for many surviving religious and liturgical texts.
- "Standard Greek" is a principal modern dialect whose pre-modern source of associated daughter dialects is a descendant of the ancient Common Koiné Greek.

With the rise of Hellenistic Civilization and the spread and influence of the various linguistic branches upon one another through trade, three principal "Koiné dialects", or Common Speeches eventually arose from these tongues, namely:

Modern Greek Dialects[edit]
It is from the Attic Koiné that the ancient Classical form of the language arose that formed a basis of culture and learning on Ancient pre-spaceflight Terra. As such, Classical Greek has been passed down as a language of scholarship and culture, while the Attic Koiné Greek still preserves many surviving ancient religious and liturgical texts. The pre-modern source of the principal modern dialects of the Standard Greek language and its associated daughter dialects descendant primarily from the Attic Koiné.
