Designed and manufactured at TL–5, these vehicles were commissioned and license built for the Mytas Colonial Occupation Forces on Mytas (world). This was done at the insistence of Lyssana (world), along the Distant Fringe. The vehicle has a Lyssanan crew of thirty-five: a driver, chief gunner, 32 loaders and commander. These have served with occupation forces for fifteen years.
Mytas 62T class Wheeled AFV, TL 5[edit]
The vehicle's soft iron armor sheaths the chassis to levels of protection sufficient to resist small arms and light anti-tank weapons. Each of these vehicle is viewed as a discrete armored platoon. One platoon crews each vehicle and two or more vehicles form an armored company. The vehicle was envisioned as a land battleship. It has a turret, more at home on a wet navy cruiser or battleship, with a ~15" (39cm) naval gun. A few are always kept on call around the starport because the high velocity weapon can punch holes in hull metal easily, if need be. It has four massive 6m tall steel wheels with independent power and steering for each wheel. One of the generals, in the long list of generals in charge of the occupation, saw the fundamental failure of the Goliath I class AFV was its high ground pressure and lack of cross country mobility. He wanted a more powerful vehicle, a faster vehicle which could go where the mark Is could not. He envisioned cross country battle with massed rebel forces for a decisive victory. The orders came down from headquarters and local factories began to churn out the mark II variants. The power plant and transmission doubled in size, and the reinforced 4x4 wheeled off road suspension grew 64% and costs 468,750 credits! The improved suspension does actually require less maintenance. Ground pressure dropped and the power to weight ratio improved. The massive exhaust manifolds and heat management system now required, destroyed the sealed vehicle integrity. The weapons and electronics packages remained unchanged, some would say regrettably. Fuel consumption, already massive doubled again. Leaving just two hours, for short patrols, one hour out and one hour back to base. In a hot, dusty interior stripped of all the amenities of the mark I. Now the vehicle need never fear getting stuck anywhere under any conditions, however the very modest improvements in off road speed, combined with the drop in endurance, made the off road radius of operations a mere 7.5km. They are still too big to drive in narrow, cramped city streets. The mark Is' 157.5km combat radius is better than their 50km radius on roads, because they lost 7 hours of operational endurance. Cynical crews say that they just get back to base sooner. They can literally shoot farther than they can drive, their indirect fire range is immense. Artillery damage assessments are always performed by lighter, longer ranged vehicles. All infantry support was jettisoned as disloyal and untrustworthy, which meant they had no ability to interact with foot mobile enemy forces and civilians, unless an officer or crew member happened to be fluent in the Mytas languages. Most local bridges can not support their even greater mass, and the problem they were asked to solve, better cross country mobility and better speed was technically solved, the terms of the contract had to be honored. The "improvements" cost the vehicle several features crews liked, and they were much more expensive as a result, for what many consider a less capable vehicle. The trade offs, did not necessarily bring the former general the combat results he sought. He did go on to write a book about his frustrations.
Chassis:[edit]

- Total usable volume: 856m³
- Total mass loaded: 1,494.125 metric tons
- Hull Material: Soft Iron
- Armor: Chassis front, turret front 36, turret and chassis sides 32, turret and chassis rear 28, belly and deck 20.
- Target Size DMs: +18 low, +2 high hits
- Production Cost: Cr2,071,131.7
Movement:[edit]
The ground pressure is 7.9686 tons/m2. The power to weight ratio is 15.
- Speed:
- Road, 50kph / 42cm; Cross Country, 7.5kph / 6.25cm.
- Movement effect on fire: move less than 1/2 -4 FFP, No EFP; move more than 1/2 No Fire.
Weapons:[edit]
No weapons stabilization. Can not move and conduct indirect fire missions.
Turret Mounted 39cm CPR High Velocity Weapon[edit]
There is a TL–5 Fire Direction Center for one fire mission per turn, indirect fire control and direct fire control. The weapon has a +5 signature, and -4 accuracy up to 45.5km, -8 accuracy up to 91km range. The ROF is 1/8 turns, and the weapon takes 22.75 turns to set up for indirect fire missions. Rounds mass 624kg and the vehicle has storage for 40 rounds of ammunition. Forty rounds of HE, KEAP, and Smoke, are included in the price. Because of their massive range they can cover huge amounts of territory. However, many field commanders prefer to roll up to enemy building and use effectively point black direct fire to level "rebel" villages from 400m out to ensure no lengthy fire orders and calls to adjust fire to a target. They just roll up unopposed and blast away. This has been done to clear a path into walled and fortified enclaves in the highlands.
| Effective Range | Long Range | Extreme Range |
| 400m (600m) | 800m (1,000m) | 2,000m (2,500m) |

Power / Equipment:[edit]
- Power: a series of huge 22.5 megawatt internal combustion diesel fired boilers, geared into a huge transmission for 4x4 drive.
