Fifth Core Expedition/secret

The 5th core expedition would have encountered the Empress Wave. The velocity of the wave was updated in the Mongoose Traveller: Zhodani book, and the calculations on the Empress Wave page are now correct for canon.

When I pointed this out to Don McKinney, his counter argument was the expedition didn't know what they were encountering, and simply assumed space travel had finally gotten to the ship crews. Because of the velocity of the wave (565 AU / hour), unless a ship crew is unlucky there is a relatively small change of being in a system when the wave comes through.
