Drakon's Folly Y111167-7 is a moon of the SGG Manubalista, in the Middle System, of the Unofficial (world) trinary star system.

Colonized initially on accident. A colonial expedition crash landed here that was headed toward the outer system. The records are incomplete, the colonial assets may have been attacked, or the crash may have been the result of an accident. The survivors apparently salvaged what they could from the wreckage and established a crude system for shelter and life support, while awaiting rescue. Unbeknownst to them, the mission had been presumed lost with all hands, and no one was looking for survivors. A frozen rocky body with pockets of sub surface ice. At the bottom of a few deeper craters and trenches which crisscross the reflective surface of the moon, ice seeps upward from below. The survivors used that ice for air, water and fuel. The thirty three hour day is a third the length of its orbit of the gas giant. A few hundred people remained and have descended from the original expedition. Visitors are few. Trade and rescue of oft thought of as dreams. The dwellers are stubborn and pragmatic. Some bitterness about being abandoned and un-looked for remains. The wispy traces of atmosphere offer a potpourri of several gases, including water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane, a little ammonia and carbon monoxide and nitrogen gas make up the gaseous envelope of the moon. Traces are wind borne salts and silica are tossed about, but the catastrophically low air pressure precludes these particles from staying aloft for long. Water and rock interact under phenomenal pressures within the crust. Some pockets of high pressure liquid water are produced. There is almost no magnetosphere, and plumes from high pressure eruption geysers seem to out gas which replenishes the negligible atmosphere. It offers little in the way of radiation or micro meteorite protection. The survivors are excellent drillers and miners by necessity. They have some very talented and resourceful mechanics among their meager number as well. Tunnels and vaults were painstakingly carved out to shield from the elements and contain the meager resources. Complete recycling is mandatory. Ceramics and concrete are fashioned from the soils, dust and rocks. Magnesium printed insulation helps insulate and regulate temperature. The local diet is almost completely hydroponic and vegetarian. Isolated radioisotope thermoelectric generators supplement solar arrays, and a shielded liquid metal cooled fission reactor for a steady 40MW power supply. The colonial leadership would typically be a knight or a baronet. No one from any confederate nation, officially holds that title yet. The leadership among the survivors wants to build a mass driver to assist with boosting ore off the surface to orbital transports.
