Donald Joseph Turnbull was an author and editor of White Dwarf Magazine where his review of Traveller stated:

"Its appeal is immediate, its attraction compelling and its topicality apposite, but my guess is that it will occupy shelves rather than players' minds."

Despite this start, the magazine ran several encouraging articles relating to Traveller while under his direction. These helped attract many UK adherents to the game.
