Commission

Description

General

A Commission is the award of position in an armed force to those considered proper to lead that armed force as Officers.

A person with a Commission, but with no experience, may give orders to a person in their line of command (regardless of their experience or advice) because they are considered senior to them by virtue of their Commission. (The wisdom of their doing so is not considered relevant).

Other Ranks (i.e. those with no Commission) are not considered officers.

Imperial Commissions

The Imperial Army, Imperial Navy and Imperial Marines all identify Officers by the awarding of Commissions.

Zhodani Commissions

The Zhodani Army, Zhodani Navy and Zhodani Guards all identify Officers by the awarding of Commissions. Zhodani Nobles are automatically granted Commissions in these forces under certain circumstances.
