Colin Heath Stuart was born to Laird McTaggart and Lady Linda Stuart.

Catapulted from obscurity in the House of Lords - where he'd been a politician since graduating from University - Colin had two bits of good fortune:

  1. . He was born on Rob Roy of a prominent clan that sat at the nexus of power over several other powerful clans, and...:
  2. . His father entered him into an arranged marriage, at age 40, to the 21 year old daughter of the sitting Prince (negotiations for which, unbeknownst to the couple, had begun in 150.

Thus, two years later, at the retirement of Prince Colin, he was crowned the Sovereign Prince of Caledon.

His 12 year reign was marked by sporadic engagements with Reavers, opening of more-direct trade with the Imperium, and the colonization of Claverse in 170.

He retired at age 54 in 179 to turn the throne over to his younger brother, Steven - who was married, quite incidentally, to his sister in law, Sarah MacArthur.
