I am confused by this category. I think it is a great idea to have Traveller specific word definitions, but the first one chosen Olympiad has almost the identical meaning in English (other than the slight difference in duration 4 yrs, vs. 2.25)? Dcorrin 17:26, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

The Olympiad was the experimental one. I added it to the dictionary category, then forgot about it. I do this with a number of ideas. I suggest (and will do) move Olympiad to Tleqazdijdiet (the Zhodani word), add it to the Category :Zhodani dictionary which is a sub-category of dictionary. We can create a number of alien language dictionaries, plus the main one. Does that work? Tjoneslo 12:43, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
It wasn't as much the Anglic vs. Zhodani feature, but Olypliad is not really a word specific to Traveller, as the English version is almost the same. Do you want to list Lanthanum in the dictionary as in traveller it is used for starship jump coils? I guess I don't see any dividing line. As for the alien language entries, this seems clear and a very good idea. Dcorrin 13:35, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
There are a number of terms which are not specific to Traveller (lanthanum, Iridium are two of the most glairing), but have Traveller specific meanings. I haven't got a good way of deciding what should and shouldn't be in the wiki on that basis.
On the other hand, I'd say the dividing line between a Dictionary entry and a Library (encyclopedia) entry should be length. One or two sentence definition should be in the Dictionary, anything longer is for the library. Tjoneslo 16:50, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
