Campaign:SBRD/Library/Interstellar Wars

The Interstellar Wars were a series of conflicts between the Vilani Ziru Sirka (or First Imperium) and the Terran Confederation, taking place between 2114 and 2303 AD. Much of the early conflict occurred in what is now called the Terran Rim Sector, near the Terran homeworld, variously called Earth or Terra (TR 1827). As the tide of war turned in favor of the Terrans, later phases of the war moved into what had been Vilani territory (including the setting of this campaign, in the sectors of Daibei and Riftrim Deep). The end result of the Interstellar Wars was the collapse of the First Imperium and the rise of a Second Imperium, the Rule of Man.

First Contact

Terran Humans discovered Jump Drive in 2087, and had developed practical starships by 2098. Terran civilization was shocked, however, when an expedition to Barnard's Star (TR 1926) reported not only contact with another sapient species, but contact with a sapient species that appeared to be just as Human as the Terrans themselves, and possessed of a vast empire of other star systems. This other species was of course the Vilani, and their empire the Ziru Sirka.
