Campaign:NHNE/Governments/Hoffenstat
Description[edit]
Originally run by a group of religious individuals, the role of administration passed to a lay council in year 23 - that date being counted as the date of the foundation of this state. Appointment to the Lay Council is by recommendation by the council, although a plebiscite may reject the nominees, and rejected nominees may not be recommended a second time.
Language[edit]
German is used as the everyday language of the country, although Fleet English is widely spoken
History[edit]
Hoffenstat was founded by a group of Mennonites who were convinced that they were called to pray for the success of the colony and for the lost on the five missing. Their simple community, effectively an monastery, became the centre of a town - and that town expanded to become the current state of that name.
