The Heretic's Railroad War escalation to a conflict between line forces deployed in full war-fighting mode saw massive political intervention by the New Earth Council and this was led by the state of Matabele. In 67 this resulted in the agreement to a truce.
The truce lasted until 87. In 85, the New Earth Council started the Selene House Talks trying to find a permanent peace, but the appearance of the New Heaven Plague in 86 killed this opportunity stone-dead.
