Porrima (otherwise known as Arich or Gamma Virginis) is a binary star system composed of two nearly identical white main sequence stars of spectral type F0.

Description (Specifications)[edit]

The two stars of the Porrima system have an orbital period of 168.93 years.

  • They have a highly eccentric orbit about one another, with an average separation of 43AU, a periastron of 5AU and an apastron of 81AU.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

The Porrima star system is approximately 11.7pc from Terra, and is located in a Trailing direction from Terra at bearing 297.8o Galactic Longitude and +61.3o North Galactic Latitude.
