As predicted by Imperial astrophysicists, Antares A will go supernova in 1270 and will kill any colonies in this system unprotected by a substantial atmosphere or strong heliosphere sometime between 32⅝ and 35⅞ years afterward. For a century after this, the system will be bathed in hard radiation.
