Yedan is a poor, non-agricultural and nonindustrial world.
- It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society.
- It is unable to produce quality foodstuffs and must import them.
- It has few prospects for economic development. Life here is drastically bleak.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Frell Subsector of Halcyon Sector.

System data
The system primary is Volsojo, a dim red main sequence star: the entire system is considered to be outer zone. Volsojo retains (I) a sparse icy planetoid belt, (II) a small vacuum world, (III) a large gas giant: (IIIb) Yedan is its largest satellite and is designated the mainworld, (IV, V) two small gas giants, (VI, VII) two small vacuum worlds, and (VIII) a final large exotic atmosphere world. All of the gas giants and the exotic atmosphere world retain satellites.
(III) Woocha
(III) Woocha is a small gas giant that orbits Volsojo at a mean distance of 0.7 AU and has an orbital period of 389.25 days. It has a diameter of 48,000km and is a bright blue colour. It retains a family of three major satellites of which the second, (IIIb) Yedan, is designated the system mainworld.
(IIIb) Yedan
(IIIb) Yedan is the second of the three major moons of Woocha and is designated the mainworld. It orbits its parent world at a mean distance of 25 diameters (1.08 million km), with an orbital period of 32 days 9 hours and a rotation period of 18.5 hours. It has no axial tilt. It has a diameter of 6681 km, a density of 5.26 g/cm³ and a surface gravity of 0.5 G. It retains an atmosphere rated as Very Thin, Tainted, with a surface pressure of 0.18 bar and a composition of 89% nitrogen, 10% oxygen, and 1% argon, carbon dioxide, neon and other trace gases. The atmospheric taint is caused by the very low percentage of oxygen. Around 29% of the surface is covered in thick ice sheets and small seas of water kept liquid by salinity and geothermal activity. Tidal stresses caused by the gravitational pull of Woocha cause seismic activity. Yedan is extremely cold, with temperatures averaging around -75ºC.
Mainworld Geography & Topography
Much of the surface of Yedan is arid dust plains, gravelly flatlands and rippled dunes, divided by low mountain ranges and dotted with rugged highland regions. Around 25% of the surface is covered in glacial sheets, frozen lakes and deep layers of frozen gas. Around 4% of the surface is covered in sheets of liquid water, concentrated into lakes within geologically active regions and marked by geysers that tower kilometers into the sky.
Native lifeforms
Yedan does not have native life and no offworld organisms are known to have colonised the world.
History & Background (Dossier)

World starport
Yedan has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
World technology level
Yedan possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land & Water: Grav belts and maturing gravcraft.
- Air: Greatly improved hybrid grav-aircraft.
- Space: Improved interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-1.
World government
Yedan is governed by a Feudal Technocracy. Society divides itself based on the technical requirements of the society. Each of these functions are granted as a fief to an individual or group. Leadership of these fiefs determines the head of the government.
