A non-agricultural Imperial world and the industrial center of the Palique Cluster, located in the Mora Subsector of the Spinward Marches. Palique is also spelled "Pallique."
The Palique system contains two extremely rich asteroid belts which provided the primary draw for settlement and development. Palique itself is a captured planet; its eccentric orbit is inclined almost perpendicularly to the system's ecliptic plane. Plaique suffers a series of planetary impacts twice each local year as the planet passes through one of the planetoid belts. As a result of the navigation hazards the IISS has registered the world as an Amber Zone.
Pallique is an ice-capped planet with only a trace oxygen-nitrogen atmosphere; its eccentric orbit results in a highly variable climate. Despite Pallique's inhospitable nature, its location and abundant resources have led it to become a high-population, high-technology world. Pallique's most famed exports are its vacuum survival gear.
