I was wondering whether it would be feasible and simple to edit the Template:UWPexpand

https://wiki.travellerrpg.com/Template:UWPexpand

... with regards to Spaceport encodings. Currently, the template expansion only indicates details of Starports (A, B, C, D, E, X) but i was curious about the possibility of adding to this list with the Spaceports (F, G, H, Y).

I did not want to tinker with such a widely used template, and am not particularly savvy with things like wiki-markup encoding. But if it's simply a matter of editing some additional lines in that template's list, i would gladly type them in. At the moment, the expansion uses these:

| A = Excellent: Starship Construction, Overhaul, Refined fuel
| B = Good: Spacecraft Construction, Overhaul, Refined fuel
| C = Routine: No Construction, Major Repair, Unrefined fuel
| D = Poor: No Construction, Minor Repair, Unrefined fuel
| E = Frontier - no facilities
| X = No Starport
| Error in Starport Decode

... and i would suggest adding these:

| F = Good quality spaceport with unrefined fuel, minor repair facilities, no starport
| G = Poor quality spaceport with unrefined fuel; no repair facilities, no starport
| H = Primitive spaceport installation; no facilities, no starport
| Y = No spaceport

Of course, i may be overlooking other factors involved in designing and editing these templates, so i have not yet dared to touch any of the markup, and i hope somebody with experience can easily answer whether i should try this? Thank you for consideration,

I went ahead and added those Spaceport codes to the template. I have not yet noticed any breakage or obvious errors on the pages using the UWP expansion feature, but i will quickly revert the template to its previous design if anybody sees any problems. Upon review the changes look good and shouldn't cause any problem. Thanks for adding those. Tjoneslo (talk) 22:04, 22 October 2024 (UTC)
