Hochiken Republic

Lying along the coreward border of Gateway Sector was the Hochiken Republic, established in 425 after a series of workers' revolts overthrew the Vanadian Cartel in the previous year. Beginning as a democratic and representative interstellar government, the Republican government was taken over by a military coup in 590 and renamed the Hochiken People's Assembly.
