If there is a specific location for Matrix, I couldn't find it in Alien Races 2. At one point it sounds like Banners ("two sectors rimward of Dark Nebula . . .") and then Ahriman ("The Inyx control Matrix and 17 worlds in Ahriman . . ."). Has this ever been cleared up?
Not quite sure how best to fill in subsector/hex information for the templates.
