The Murdoch family rose to prominence when Axel Murdoch founded the megacorporation Instellarms in 626. His descendants retain control of Instellarms through a controlling interest in Murdoch Holdings.

• Lynette Hutara Murdoch (nee' ?). Mother of young Axel (below) and current Regent of Haley for her son.
• Hiroshi Rutan Murdoch. Younger brother of the former marquis. President of Murdoch Holdings from 1113.

• Axel Aella Murdoch. Marquis of Haley (in Fornast Sector). 16th in direct descent from the original Axel Murdoch. Born 1105.
