Caithness (world)

Caithness is a pleasant world with an atmosphere amenable to humans. It has been for centuries a key way station for traders, scouts - and buccaneers and the navy ships that pursue them. Home to a scout and major navy base, it's a vital hub for trade to spinward. Given the proximity of the Reaver-dominated Khan World League, it's also an assembly point for convoys shipping out to spinward.

Caithness is largely a "company planet" run The Caithness Combine, a joint venture of several major Caledonian trading companies. The planet is governed by a bureaucracy administered under Caledonian law. While the planet itself has no elections for government, the population does vote for members to the Caledonian parliament.
