This medal is more or less the equivalent of the modern US Armed Forces medals known as the Distinguished Service Cross/Navy Cross or the Medal of Honor, or the British Victoria Cross. Note that under T5 rules it can be given as either a straight SEH, or the more distinguished "SEH w/ Diamonds" (*SEH*).
