Sky Raiders is the name given to a semi-legendary culture which flourished some 5,300 years ago in the Foreven Sector. Almost all evidence of the Sky Raiders has come from oral traditions, myths, legends and the like from a number of worlds centred around the Jungleblut Subsector. Their origins, fate and cultural details remain unknown. Estimates place them at TL 9-10, and stories suggest that they were a race of upright bipeds, but nothing further is certain.

Legend invariably depicts the Sky Raiders as a ruthless aggressive race, descending from the sky to spread destruction and death among the inhabitants. Plunder and pillage seems to have been their main objective in these raids.

A number of theories exist as regards the Sky Raiders' origins and eventual fate. Controversial author Professor Jothan Messandi directed interest towards Mirayn / Jungleblut, where he disappeared in 1107 whilst attempting to vindicate his theories. In her book 'Solomani Connections & Imperial Directions', author Dr Kellia Montrose is critical of his research, claiming that the legends are exaggerated accounts of a lost Second Imperium exploration fleet. Most recently, Dr Dafyd van Burien, of LOSCIS, has theorized that the Sky Raiders were Drakne, with a mixed reaction from his peers.
