Vargr are a non-humaniod race coreward of the Imperium.

Origins
The Vargr race is genetically manipulated. Terran Lupis stock was altered by the Ancients to produce a workforce.
Description
Vargr appear as bipedal Wolves.
Society
Like their pre-cursors, Vargr have a pack mentallity with charasmatic leaders commanding the loyalty of groups of Vargr. These groups rely on the direct influence of their leader and will break down if left to their own devices. Vargr have great difficulty sustaning a government larger than one planet.
