From the Stellar Classification at Wikipedia, the template converts a star description (e.g. G2 V) into it appropriate color (e.g. Yellow).

The full table is:

  • Type O stars: Blue
  • Type B stars: Blue-White
  • Type A stars: White
  • Type F stars: Yellow-White
  • Type G stars: Yellow
  • Type K stars: Orange
  • Type M stars: Red
  • Type BD stars: Brown Dwarf
  • Type BH stars: Black Hole
  • Type D stars: White Dwarf
  • Type NS stars: Neutron Star

  • Traveller currently has no star system bigger than six stars (sextenary) at the moment according to T5SS data.
