The Prospect Subsector is named for the prospect of the first official contact with an extra-Varan race. There are two planets currently sustaining intelligent life.

Scimitar (Mikhail 1202) is inhabited by the survivors of a Solomani Colony ship that misjumped into the region. They made landfall here, and are doing their best to make it back into space.

Coathlan (Mikhail 1409) is inhabited by a semi-aquatic race of 6-armed cephalopods. They have developed rudimentary rockets and aircraft. Oddly, there is no evidence of radio or other forms of electromagnetic communication.

No Varan presence exists in this subsector, save that of automated early warning probes.
