The term "Fulani" ultimately derives from the "Hausa-Fulani" or "Fulani" (Fula) people of the Sahel-Sahara region of West Africa and the Senegambian "Fula" language that they speak.

There must be some reason why this sector acquired this name historically, even if it is non-relevant today.
