A defunct polity once found in the Gateway Sector. It was the predecessor to the Hochiken People's Assembly.

Lying along the coreward border of Gateway, the Hochiken Republic was established in 425-432 after a series of workers' revolts overthrew the Vanadian Cartel in 424.

Beginning as a democratic and representative interstellar government, the Republican state apparatus was deposed by a military coup in 590. The state was renamed the Hochiken People's Assembly.
