Alternate Hull Classification Schemes could be as follows::

Alternate Hull Classification Scheme #1

Simplest: Each Tier (ACS » BCS » CCS » FCS » WCS) increases the previous by 1 power of 10.

Define ranges by order of magnitude (value in parentheses is lower "smallcraft" range):

1. ACS: Auxiliary/Adventure Class: (10)100 - 2,400 tons
2. BCS: Battle/Bulk Class: (100)1,000 - 24,000 tons
3. CCS: Capital Class: (1,000)10,000 - 240,000 tons
4. FCS: Fleet Class: (10,000)100,000 - 2,400,000 tons
5. WCS: World Class: (100,000)1,000,000 - 24,000,000 tons

The overlap in the cases above allows for the classification of some smaller vessels in the larger vessels scheme when necessary, allowing a degree of overlap between the lower range of one coding system and the upper range of the previous coding system for intercompatibility.
So when clarity is needed:

• ACS coded ships can be prefaced with "A/" before the hull-size code:

• A/0 = (unused: vehicle / < 3-ton )
• A/1-A/9 = "Smallcraft" (Small/Very-Light: 10-90 ton)
• A/A-A/B = Light ACS Vessels (100-200 ton)
• A/C-A/J = Standard ACS Vessels (300-900 ton)
• A/K-A/Z = Large ACS Vessels (1,000-2,400 ton)

• BCS coded ships can be prefaced with "B/" before the hull-size code:

• B/0 = ( < 100-ton )
• B/1-B/9 = Small/Very-Light BCS Vessels (100-900 ton)
• B/A-B/B = Light BCS Vessels (1,000-2,000 ton)
• B/C-B/J = Standard BCS Vessels (3,000-9,000 ton)
• B/K-B/Z = Large BCS Vessels (10,000-24,000 ton)

• CCS coded ships can be prefaced with "C/" before the hull-size code:

• C/0 = ( < 1,000-ton )

• BCS coded ship: "B/0" = < 100 ton | "B/1"-"B/9" = 100-900 ton | B/A=1,000-ton through B/Z=24,000-ton
• CCS coded ship: "C/0" = < 1,000 ton | "C/1"-"C/9" = 1,000-9,000 ton | C/A=10,000-ton through C/Z=240,000-ton
• FCS coded ship: "F/0" = < 10,000 ton | "F/1"-"F/9" = 10,000-90,000 ton | F/A=100,000-ton through F/Z=2,400,000-ton
• WCS coded ship: "W/0" = < 100,000 ton | "W/1"-"W/9" = 100,000-900,000 ton | W/A=1,000,000-ton through W/Z=24,000,000-ton

In each range, use the same alphabetical progression for Hull-size codes, but append "A/", "B/", "C/", "F/", or "W/" to the Hull-code Letter when needed for range-specificity.

  EF-B/EU66.   B/E=   5,000 ton Fast Escort.
  GR-B/BS60.   B/B=   2,000 ton "Battle" (Gun Frigate) Rider.
  CB-C/DU73.   C/D=  40,000 ton Battlecruiser.
  BB-C/VU64.   C/V= 200,000 ton Beam Battleship.
  BAF-F/EU74.  F/E= 500,000 ton Flag/Command Dreadnought.

Thus (for example):

• Hull Codes A/1 thru A/9 (< 100 ton) would all fall under the Hull Code B/0 in the next higher classification when necessary, and more specified granularity is not needed.
• Hull Codes A/A thru A/J (100 ton - 900 ton) would all fall under the Hull Codes B/1 thru B/9 in the next higher classification when necessary, and more specified granularity is not needed.
• Hull Codes A/K thru A/U (1000 ton - 1900 ton) would all fall under the Hull Code B/A (1000 ton) in the next higher classification when necessary, and more specified granularity is not needed.
• Hull Codes A/V thru A/Z (2000 ton - 2400 ton) would all fall under the Hull Code B/B (2000 ton) in the next higher classification when necessary, and more specified granularity is not needed.

Likewise:

• Hull Codes B/0 thru B/9 (< 1000 ton) would all fall under the Hull Code C/0 in the next higher classification when necessary, and more specified granularity is not needed.
• Hull Codes B/A thru B/J (1 kton - 9 kton) would all fall under the Hull Codes C/1 thru C/9 in the next higher classification when necessary, and more specified granularity is not needed.
• Hull Codes B/K thru B/U (10 kton - 19 kton) would all fall under the Hull Code C/A (10 kton) in the next higher classification when necessary, and more specified granularity is not needed.
• Hull Codes B/V thru B/Z (20 kton - 24 kton) would all fall under the Hull Code C/B (20 kton) in the next higher classification when necessary, and more specified granularity is not needed.

• Hull Codes C/0 thru C/9 (< 10,000 ton) would all fall under the Hull Code F/0 in the next higher classification when necessary, and more specified granularity is not needed.
• Hull Codes C/A thru C/J (10 kton - 90 kton) would all fall under the Hull Codes F/1 thru F/9 in the next higher classification when necessary, and more specified granularity is not needed.

Alternate Hull Classification Scheme #2

·Based on Defined Hull Classification Ranges:
·Each Tier (ACS » BCS » WCS) increases tonnage magnitude by 2 Powers of 10, with an intervening sub-tier between BCS & WCS @ the FCS Level which increases tonnage magnitude by only a single Power of 10.

BCS: Battle/Bulk Class: (1,000)/10,000 - 240,000 tons

»» FCS: Fleet Class: (10,000)/100,000 - 2,400,000 tons

WCS: World Class: (100,000)/1,000,000 - 24,000,000 tons

• F/K-F/Z = Large FCS Vessels (1,000,000-2,400,000 ton)

• WCS coded ship can be prefaced with "W/" before the code (W/0-W/9 & W/A-W/Z)

• W/0 = ( < 100,000-ton )

• ACS coded ship: "A/0" is not used (< 3-ton) | "A/1"-"A/9" = 10-90 ton | A/A=100-ton through A/Z=2,400-ton
• BCS coded ship: "B/0" = < 1000-ton | "B/1"-"B/9" = 1,000-9,000 ton | B/A=10,000-ton through B/Z=240,000-ton

• Hull Codes A/V thru A/Z (2000-ton - 2400-ton) would all fall under the Hull Code B/2 (2000-ton) in the next higher classification when necessary, and more specified granularity is not needed.

• Hull Codes B/0 thru B/J (< 100-kton) would all fall under the Hull Code W/0 in the next higher classification when necessary, and more specified granularity is not needed.
• Hull Codes B/K thru B/U (100-kton - 190-kton) would all fall under the Hull Code W/1 (100-kton) in the next higher classification when necessary, and more specified granularity is not needed.
• Hull Codes B/V thru B/Z (200-kton - 240-kton) would all fall under the Hull Code W/2 (200-kton) in the next higher classification when necessary, and more specified granularity is not needed.

Likewise:
