Awakened (Sophont) Synopsis
The Awakened are self-aware Virus machine intellgences. Some think of them as "infected robots" taken over by the Virus. Others think of them as artifical intelligences.
The name Awakened is a name provided by the Awakened themselves. Most humans, particularly those outside the areas of the inhabited by the Awakened refer to them by their old name, the Vampires.
