Bart Skanos

Bart Skanos was the second son of a wealthy manufacturer of commercial catering equipment.

His own business acumen saw the company expand into spaceship manufacture, and turned him into the wealthiest man in the Anniversary sector.

• Born on Anniversary in the Year of the Third Imperium 573
• Designed the 'jump probe', an unmanned probe with J-6 capabilty, specifically for finding a path through uncharted space. A jump probe would jump ahead several parsecs, scan the nearby area, and return to it's starting point with full details. It allowed a space ship to chart a path to the next fuel source without risking being stranded without any way to jump to a refueling point.
• He left the Anniversary Sector in the year 619, at the heights of the Imperial Civil War and the Second Frontier War, with three huge transport ships, 'The Captains Bathtub', 'Star Goat' and 'Telephone Sanitizer', and a collection of jump probes. The transport ships contained thousands of humans who felt that the Third Imperium was no longer a place that they wanted to live. Feeling their way coreward they covered 4 sectors in a 2 year journey, and arrived at a suitable planet which was called Skanor in his honour.
