[[Structurecomp]] (Structural composite) is a generic term for a medium quality structural material with the properties needed for many civilian applications. It is usually a honeycombed or foamed core of metal and/or ceramics, spray-faced with synthetic fibers to provide an extremely high tensile strength on both sides, with corresponding stiffness. The outer face is then sprayed or dipped with a similar fiber matrix in a smooth carrier to provide a mirror-like finish. For applications like vehicle bodies, all layers are dyed the same color if possible, to minimize the visual effect of scratches or other minor damage. The resulting product is stiff, light, and has good energy absorbing abilities. Structural members may also be made in the same fashion, but without the attention to coloration.

Structurecomp or Structural composite is a generic term for a medium quality structural material with the properties needed for many civilian applications.
