The Talak system has two inhabited planets, presumably both colonized by the same long-forgotten expedition.
The innermost, Vahjdi, is tide-locked to the star, Nijet. A large moon provides a slight wobble in the planet's motion that can produce sunsets or sunrises in the area of the terminator on a weekly basis. Also, glacial melt has produced a sea that provides a moderating influence on the climate, making a small pocket of the world inhabitable by unprotected humans.
The second planet, Talak, is much more astrographically ordinary. It has eight small equatorial continents and a decidedly cool climate. It was split among several warring nations until unified in 1097, after which it unexpectedly developed a space program to invade and occupy the inhabited portion of Vahjdi.
In addition to the two other planets, there are a number of unassociated asteroids in the system, but no belt.
