Description (Specifications)[edit]

Just a quick bit...

Started playing RPGs in the fall of 1975 upon joining the Tactics Club at Norwich University (the military college in Vermont).

First play session was Original Dungeons and Dragons. We also played traditional historic simulation and table top battle games from Avalon Hill and Strategy & Tactics. Also used "Tractics," Fletcher Pratt's naval rules...even HG Wells' "Little Wars."

Biggest session was a real time run of "Terrible Swift Sword."

During the summer of 78, visited my local hobby shop looking for something new and saw that Little Black Box... Introduced the Tactics Club to Travelling that fall.

I actively ran campaigns from 1978 - 1996, and played once in awhile thereafter in other people's.

In April 2015, I went into the hospital at the beginning of a process, which led to a pancreatic cancer diagnosis, followed by successful surgery with follow up chemo. I am cancer free as I type (4 FEB 18).

Part of my "therapy" while healing was rummaging through my personal history. I found my boxes of Traveller materials and started doing the solo stuff (creating characters, ships, systems, worlds...) and looking through my play notes.

The article I wrote on Alasdair Morgan Gunn was part of that.
