Dicing results for Odessa in 1128 Imperial Calendar (non-canon)
Some notes from Merchants Hvaek member Captain-Owner Rrukksa Uerraelaz…
(1105) Odessa / Yonder (Meshan 0313) B3109BD-A Hi In Na Pz {4} (F8E+5) [DD9E] (Amber) 104 9 other VOpp M0V M1V
Starport B – Undermountain Cavern Downport with heavy blast doors with lesser doors to each hangar or bay
Small world – Sealed cavern realm cities with warren suburbs and vast tunnel networks
Desert world – water recycling a requirement for survival, hydroponics dome-crater, imported food and water
High-Population, Industrial, Urzaeng, Ovaghoun, Rule of Man Humaniti
Non-Charismatic Leader (Gov B)
Extreme Law D – Paramilitary law enforcement
Tech Level A - Early Stellar (Jump-1)
Highport: a geostationary orbital platform, remnant, damaged, and in preservation status after Rebellion
(1128) Odessa / Yonder (Meshan 0313) B3108EA-7 Ph Pi Na {0} (F8E+5) [D99E] (Red) 704 9 other VOpp M0V M1V
Starport B – Undermountain Cavern port with heavy blast doors to antechamber with lesser doors to each hangar or bay
Small world – Sealed cavern realm cities with warren suburbs and vast tunnel networks
Desert world – water reclamation endangered during protests, revolt, and the Non-weapon Civil War
Pre-high Population, Pre-industrial, Urzaeng, Ovaghoun, Rule of Man Humaniti, trickling Logaksu and Irilitok
Loss of 300 million to epidemic and panicked evacuations (and loss of Hi and In along with 3 Importance), leading to markets crash, depression, protest, and revolt against warren genocidal Non-Charismatic Dictator (previous Gov B), more illness following deadly Infighting, and rise of Church of Penitent Doom (a branch of Church of the Chosen Ones).
- Epidemic overtaxed and overworked the healthcare system, shortages of treatment and vaccination
- Evacuations began but were halted by Paramilitary Law Enforcers to stop rush on Downport.
- Trade Codes Hi and In lost along with Importance leading to a markets crash when census of survivors reported to Yonder Subsector
- Misinformation on the Tech A system Net; nobody knows which news to trust, spurs more chaos and paranoia
- Protests of Failing label, unfair economy, border closes “to prevent epidemic from spreading to other worlds”
- Violence in response to warren containment genocide and cover-ups leads to revolt against the Non-Charismatic Dictator
- Human Cestus-9 weapon disguised as ‘armored’ heavy work gloves or gauntlets even the Infighting odds against Vargr natural weaponry initiating debates if Cestus-9 should be legal; eventually declared a ‘weapon’ then controlled, proscribed, and made illegal by the time of Non-weapon Civil War; usable by Vargr with size modifications
- The Non-weapon Civil War led by Infighters Gauntlet, (a political militia) raids Government by mass charge and seige action by populace (secretly spurred by COTCO), coup, and takes down Gov B and replaces it with Gov E in exchange for a lessening of Law Level from D to A; Cestus-9 reduced in bulk down to “industry protective gear” as a peace gesture
- Epidemic resolved by last arrivals of Freight medicines from Razfa, but results in Red Zone label and Failing label
Religious Autocracy, Failing World doom cult, led by a Bishop (Pope was slain) of Penitent branch of COTCO who promises that while the world is Failing, it is not yet Doomed if laity becomes pious. Extreme Law A – no weapon possession allowed at all, Infighting controlled; but at least law-enforcement no longer in Battle Dress.
Tech Level 7 – Space Age, rockets to orbital, remnant Highport, loss of 3 Tech Levels in about a decade; only mothballed in-system ships remain in use, else rockets to orbit with re-entry shuttles. Lower Tech Level invites Raiders who plunder the nine other worlds when Opposition Alliance Navy is recalled elsewhere. In-system boats unable to be everywhere, unsupported by Tech loss.
(Red Zone) label from Yonder Subsector Capital at Addar and nearer Subsector Capital of Raen, Razfa. [No Freight, Hi Passengers, Mid Passengers to Odessa. Speculative Cargo normal. Patron missions and Patron Passengers normal. No foreign ships allowed to land at Downport.]
Highport: a remnant, barely functional, geostationary orbital platform where ships not from Odessa are halted and docked or assigned geostationary parking buoys around the mainworld. Only ships actually registered from Odessa shipyards pre-Rebellion are allowed to land for “epidemic containment” excuses.
Culture: Acceptance drop from Very Xenophilic to Friendly following Church takeover; superficially, helpful doctrine (self-help) hardcopy materials offered at Highport and Downport to visitors; law enforcement officers wear Church robes to conceal weapons from citizen view until an operation requires more freedom to act. [Law Enforcement Career may Muster Out with their robes as symbols of public service to church and state.] Penitent Church takes a condescending but patronizing view of Humaniti as Human emulated Charisma “can only go up from the bottom”.
Travellers docking at Highport and bound for mainworld surface can expect quarantine, medical examination, and inoculation at cost to Traveller before shuttling to planetside. [In truth, a simple panaceas injection is enough. The medical is currently just for show to the public eye. This can lead to delays in Trade and Commerce and Patron missions.]
