San Vitale (world)/meta

NOTE: San Vitale is a good candidate for a world orbiting the Far Companion Binary system in the Remote System of the Regulus star system (aka "α Leonis"). Whereas Regulus A is a B7.5 IV-V star orbited by a Companion White dwarf (Regulus b) in a very close orbit, the Regulus BC binary component is in the remote system at 5000 AU distance, and is comprised of a K2 V M4 V binary pair separated by 95 AU with an orbital period of 600 years about one another.

  • It is possible that nothing of significance is found in the immediate vicinity of the Regulus Ab component, and since there is no reason to go there, only the Regulus BC component is noted on the star charts of the local hex and the Regulus Ab component is routinely omitted since it lies at such an extreme range.
  • Given the UWP characteristics of the mainworld, there is the possibility that either the BC star system as a whole, or just the mainworld itself, has been gravitationally captured.
