Mowbrey Rift
The Mowbrey Rift is an area of lower stellar density.
Description (Specifications)[edit]
A region of lower stellar density primarily lying within Foreven Sector.
- It is an astrographic feature.
- It is a micro rift.
It is a notable three-parsec rift running fairly evenly from coreward, almost reaching the rim of the sector. It begins as a six-parsec rift at the coreward edge of Massina subsector (D), narrowing to a three-parsec gap subsector C, and continuing through subsector G. From there it narrows to a two-parsec crossing at hex 2320, and then proceeds through subsector K and Reidain subsector (L). Another two-parsec crossing shows up in hexes 2731 and 2829, perhaps, though the range essentially ends at the coreward edge of Urnian subsector (P). A separate branch heads down through subsector K, with another two-parsec crossing at 2128 before ending in subsector O.
Implications of the Rift[edit]
The regions of low stellar density, including the Mowbrey Rift, makes the sector unappealing for economic development. As a result the systems in the sector are generally left to themselves.
